The Angels and Dodgers renew their interleague rivalry tonight as they open up a three game series at Dodger Stadium, first pitch is around 7:10 Pm and this game will be televised on Fox Sports West, KLAA 830 for radio .
Something that is cool about this series that hasn’t been the case in past years is that both of these clubs are in heated division races, the Angels come into tonight as the hotter team of the two, the Dodgers come into tonight just trying to survive through the injuries they have been dealt this year.
But the Dodgers are doing a lot more then just surviving, how about dominating.
Angels come into tonight only trailing the American League West division leading Texas Rangers by three games, the Dodgers have seen their division lead dwindle down to five games but the Dodgers still have the best record in Major League baseball.
Garrett Richards (1-0, 1.13) who had a stellar outing his last time out against the Seattle Mariners will take the mound for the Halos tonight.
Chris Capuano (8-2, 2.82) will toe the rubber for the team in blue tonight, the lefty is having a fantastic start to the 2012 season for the Dodgers and I would have to say an unexpected start. I have to be honest I did not know who this guy was at the start of the year but I do know, he is slowly making a name for himself.
There is supposed to be great crowds at every one of these games.
Today Major league baseball announced that the one two punch of Mike Trout and Torii Hunter were named co-Players of the Week in American League
